Cataclysm Guide – Volatile Elements
The elemental essences with a high range of use in crafting, introduced in Vanilla WoW, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King have equivalents, of course in the new era of Cataclysm. The Cataclysm elemental parts are: Volatile Life, Volatile Earth, Volatile Fire, Volatile Water and Volatile Air.
How and where you can get these elements? Read on to find out.
Volatile Earth – can be mined from Obsidian nodes and also drops from Scalding Rock Elementals. Found quite a few nice camps of these mobs in Mt. Hyjal.
Volatile Fire – it can drop when mining Elementium nodes. There’s also a good spot for to grind on Raging Firestorm elemental mobs, in northwestern corner of Mt. Hyjal.
Volatile Air – best spots to get this material are found in Uldum.
Volatile Life – drops by gathering any herb in Cataclysm, so if you’re a herbalist you won’t be too short of this resource. I also prefer to farm Wailing Weeds in Mt. Hyjal for this resource.
Volatile Water – can drop from Elementium Nodes, plenty of this mineral in Deepholm. Also, you can get Volatile Water by fishing in any open waters in the new zones.
Note that any Volatile Element can drop from Strange Bloated Stomachs which can be skinned from any beasts. So, as the skinners were unable to use their profession in WotLK or BC to farm elemental parts, now there’s a possibility for them too.
All Volatile Elements are used in various crafts at a large scale, so either if you want them for yourself or sell them to AH, it’s best to choose some elemental mobs in Cataclysm if you want to do some grinding, or get them via gathering professions.
You can also get a WoW Guide that is made by elite players to show you how to be the most effective at making gold in the game with such Elements.
